A groundbreaking ceremony is set to take place for a new state-of-the-art, 20,000-square-foot facility designed to provide comprehensive services tailored to the needs of the homeless community.

“We are excited to break ground on this new facility, which will allow us to expand our services and better meet the needs of our community,” said Scott Foster, Executive Director of The Journey Home. “The Journey Home Community Resource Center is committed to providing a pathway out of homelessness and helping individuals and families build stable and sustainable lives.”

The expanded stabilization services will include coaching, housing coordination, interim family housing, and both health and mental health care. With increased operating hours and dedicated space for full-time staff, the facility aims to remove barriers to essential healthcare and mental health services for individuals who often struggle to access such resources.

Russ Galloway, Chair of the UNHOUSED Capital Campaign, emphasized the importance of the new Wellness Clinic, stating, “This will provide medical and mental health care to our neighbors who are often challenged by these issues, as well as a lack of insurance, finances, and transportation. We will provide care without the usual barriers so that it is more accessible to all. This will not only provide better care but also reduce costs, alleviating some of the burdens on our hospitals and emergency departments.”

Founded in 2006, The Journey Home is a Christian ministry dedicated to serving the homeless and disadvantaged in Rutherford County. The organization focuses on meeting basic needs through day-to-day resources like meals, hygiene products, laundry and shower facilities, and communication resources. Additionally, case management services, including coaching and referrals through the outreach center, will continue to be a priority.

This new facility is a testament to the community's generosity and commitment to ending homelessness in Rutherford County. The Journey Home extends heartfelt gratitude to all supporters involved in this mission, reinforcing the belief that together, positive change is not only possible but imminent.
