Rutherford County, TN - A student at Oakland High School was taken into custody Friday morning following an alleged stabbing of a fellow student, according to Rutherford County Schools. The incident, which occurred between two students, involved one student stabbing another in the shoulder area with an unidentified object.
School officials confirmed that the situation was isolated, and no further students were involved. The victim sustained minor injuries and did not require medical treatment. Scroll down to see one of the messages that was to parents by the OHS principal.

This is John Marshall, Principal of Oakland High School. During a class transition this morning, there was an isolated incident involving two students. One student assaulted another student; this stemmed from a prior incident. The school, district, and School Resource Officers (SROs) immediately implemented our safety protocols, and the individual responsible was taken into custody.
All students and staff are safe, and school activities have resumed. Please know that we take these matters seriously. Any student who does not adhere to our policies or disrupts the learning environment will face severe disciplinary action.

The 15-year-old student responsible for the stabbing has been charged with aggravated assault and was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center. The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
During the altercation, Oakland High School activated its security protocols to ensure student safety. After the situation was resolved, the school administration sent a message to all parents, keeping them informed about the incident.
