MURFREESBORO, TN - The Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department (MFRD) swiftly responded to a house fire in the Innsbrooke subdivision Wednesday afternoon. The fire, located on Hyle Avenue, a short distance behind the Kroger on South Church Street, was reported at around 4:30 p.m. Heavy smoke was visible upon the firefighters’ arrival, with flames emerging from the attic.
Thanks to the quick actions of MFRD’s fire crews, the blaze was quickly contained and extinguished before it could cause further damage. Firefighters worked efficiently to prevent the blaze from spreading, ensuring the safety of nearby homes.
One individual was inside the residence when the fire broke out but managed to escape unharmed. Hyle Avenue had to be temporarily closed to allow for the Fire Marshal’s investigation, which is currently underway to determine the cause of the blaze.
The Murfreesboro community continues to be thankful for the quick response from the MFRD, as their efforts helped avert what could have been a much more dangerous situation.
Units from Ladder 1, 2, 4, Rescue 1, 4, Engine 3, 10, and Battalion Chiefs 1 and 2, along with Safety 1 and 2, were deployed to assist.
