SMYRNA, TN - Apparently, nothing says "criminal mastermind" like sporting a t-shirt that reads, "My future is not just a dream" while allegedly swiping pet supplies. That said, the Smyrna Police Department is on the lookout for not one, but possibly two suspects involved in a PetSmart theft reported on August 8, 2024.
The PetSmart in question is in the same shopping area as Target, near the intersection of Sam Ridley Parkway and Industrial Blvd. Clearly, it’s a hotbed of activity for those with ambitious futures—and evidently, for those who can’t resist the allure of pet merchandise.
Security camera footage, the ever-reliable narrator of retail crimes, captured two individuals of interest. In one photo, a man, fully aware of his promising future, dons a t-shirt with the motivational slogan on the front "My future is not just a dream,” paired with a black ball cap that proudly reads, "BOSS." Perhaps he's the boss of his dreams, or maybe just of bad decisions.
The second image showcases a woman whose fashion choices remain largely a mystery, thanks to a strategically placed shopping cart. While we can confirm she was wearing a white t-shirt, the details of her bottom half are as elusive as the suspects themselves. The cart seems to be working overtime, covering most of her body and leaving us with more questions than answers.
If you have any information that might help Smyrna Police track down these sartorially savvy suspects, you’re encouraged to contact Detective Ronin at 615-459-6644 or via email at rebekah.ronin@townofsmyrna.org. Because who wouldn’t want to help solve the case of the missing PetSmart merchandise—and perhaps, the case of the hidden fashion statement?
