Focus on Rutherford County with Mayor Joe Carr:
- Plans are to keep the museum in the Rutherford County Courthouse and to expand other museum sections to the old Goldstein Building.
- Move Rutherford County Election Commission and other offices to Linebaugh Library.
- Move Linebaugh to 10,000 to 15,000 square foot vacant buildings in 3 parts of the area (Blackman area, S. Church (across from I-24), and Siegel School area. The county is looking to purchase vacant buildings.
- Forensic Center funding was not approved by state. (A independent study was done by statewide health departments, and they determined that a 3 more centers are needed for Tennessee, and one of them is greatly needed in Rutherford County). At this time, with the exception of the Nashville-Williamson County Forensic Center--all of the other centers are not-for-profit. The Nashville-Williamson County Center is for-profit.
- Concrete foodings for the Rutherford County transfer station is being poured today (7/31/2024) at the old County Landfill.
