How do you get top flight athletes in today’s sporting world? It’s really pretty simple. Just show them the money.

Over the past few years, Kentucky Downs has graduated into “the place to be” for turf horses in late summer. The reason being has been the enormous increase in race money offered at the Franklin, Kentucky venue. Featuring bigger purses than a Louis Vutton store, the seven-day meet boasts 15 stakes races all worth at least $1 million for Kentucky-bred horses. Overall, there will be just over $39 million distributed to the runners.

The massive purse structure means Kentucky downs has the largest per-race payouts of any track in the United States. The 2024 meet will begin on August 29 and also run on August 31, September 1,5, 7, 8, and 11. Kentucky Turf Cup Day is slated for September 7 and will feature six Stakes races including two Breeders’ Cup win and you’re in events (Turf Sprint, Turf Cup).

Those big purses also mean great things for the fans of the sport. Because the top horses, trainers, and jockeys from all around the country choose to call Kentucky home on these seven dates, the competition is off the charts. Those “season-making” purses are there and that means the starting gates are normally full. That in turn translates that payouts to the speculating public who happen to choose correctly can be enormous.

Nestled just north of the Tennessee state line, Kentucky Downs is the only European-style track in North America. Combining that unique characteristic with all that money makes this adrenaline sport even that much more exciting. For more information visit themintgaming.com.
