Speaking to reporters before flying to Washington, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that he looks forward to meeting with President Joe Biden who ended his U.S. reelection bid on Sunday. Mr. Netanyahu says this will be an opportunity to discuss how to advance in the critical months ahead the goals that are important for both our countries…

NASHVILLE, TN  - As you heard in a special CBS News bulletin on WGNS Sunday afternoon (7/21/2024), President Joseph R. Biden announced his intention not to seek re-election. He has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratics nominee. 

Tennessee's Democratic Party Chair Hendrell Remus released a statement, "I am saddened, but I am forever proud of having supported the man who defeated Donald Trump and restored hope in America. President Biden delivered for the American people on election night in 2020 and every day during his term in office..."

President Biden posted on social media, "While it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as president for my term."

Shortly after the president's first social media posting on Sunday, he added a second post: "My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it's been the best decision I've made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year..."
