RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - Barnabas Vision, a local non-profit in Murfreesboro, is helping low-income families with school-age children who can't afford back-to-school supplies... Local educator Hilary Hodges, a long-time volunteer with Barnabas Vision, shared details on how the community can get involved with this year's drive...

Residents can participate in several ways: by making a financial donation online, ordering school supplies from the organization's Amazon list, or purchasing items independently and dropping them off at the Barnabas Vision office at 141 MTCS Road, Murfreesboro, TN 37129.

Hodges told WGNS News that their goal is to collect all school supplies by July 28, 2024. Volunteers are later needed to load school supplies into 173 backpacks on July 30, 2024, at 10 AM. To be a part of the hands-on work, Hodges said...

After filling the backpacks, volunteers will head to the housing complex where the children live. There, Barnabas Vision will host a back-to-school party, which including pizza and games. During the party, each child will receive a free backpack filled with supplies to help them get ready for the first day of school.
