Originally launched in 1999 as an educational resource channel, True Blue TV has evolved into a premier hub for video content and live event programming from MTSU. The channel features a wide range of programming, including campus lectures, academic activities, live and encore broadcasts of university events, and resources for K-12 schools and educators. True Blue TV also shares content from state and national broadcasting partners. During the second portion of the podcast, Dr. Donny Walker, an assistant biology professor at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), joins students Tatyana Martinez and Ian Wilson to discuss their participation in the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program. This summer, the team is conducting research on the impact of fungal pathogens on the microbiomes of reptiles and amphibians. The REU program provides valuable research internships for undergraduates, including stipends, travel, and housing.
