MURFREESBORO, TN - Ongoing issues and a lack of progress at One East College, LLC may lead the Murfreesboro City Council to reevaluate future endeavors with potential development's... That was City Council-member Jami Averwater, talking about recently proposed changes with the Notes Live development, that is now called VENU.

When Note's Live or VENU first ventured into Murfreesboro, they proposed to build a restaurant, banquet hall and 4,500 seat concert venue... Again, Averwater said the company wants to eliminate their previously proposed banquet hall and restaurant, while increasing their concert venue seating by 2-thousand seats.

Medical Center Parkway is currently under construction to be widened, but an extra lane in both directions may not be enough to compensate for a 44.4% increase in seating. Averwater fears such a sizable increase would have a negative impact on future and current businesses in that area...

With the main entrance to Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford located just down the street from the land that Notes Live wants to develop, additional traffic on Medical Center Parkway could cause more than just delays for drivers. Traffic jams could negatively affect patients being transported by ambulance to the local hospital, potentially impacting their health and well-being.

Five years ago, Murfreesboro opened their Medical Center Parkway firehall next to the land that VENU aims to develop. Slow-moving concertgoers could further pose problems for homeowners and businesses that rely on fire and rescue services from the city. The fire department is directly next to the land that VENU plans to develop.

Under original negotiations between the City of Murfreesboro and VENU, formerly Notes Live, the City agreed to give developers 20-acres to construct a concert venue, restaurant and banquet hall on... LOOKING BACK - The City of Murfreesboro finalized the closing of the land on December 21, 2022 with “Sunset on the Stones River, LLC.” The property along Medical Center Parkway was at that point designated for the development of Bourbon Brothers venues, which is part of Notes Live.
