Rutherford County Gas Prices Update: Current Trends in TN and Historical Comparison’s

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - Average gasoline prices in Tennessee have risen 1.3 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.13 per gallon today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 3,821 stations in Tennessee. Prices in Tennessee are 10.1 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 4.0 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

AAA, the Auto Club, reports that the price for regular unleaded fuel is averaging $3.12 per gallon today in Rutherford County. Current prices are identical to gas prices two weeks ago in the Murfreesboro/Smyrna area, but 0.7 cents higher than prices three months ago. Right now, gas prices south of Rutherford County in the Shelbyville area are only 1 cent cheaper, while prices north of Murfreesboro in Wilson County are 3 cents cheaper.

The highest priced fuel in Tennessee can be found West of Rutherford County in neighboring Williamson County, where regular unleaded gas is selling for an average price of $3.59 per gallon. In the nearby city of Nashville, prices at the pump are averaging $3.23 per gallon (reg. unleaded).

Only three counties have gas priced under the $3 mark, as of Tuesday morning (05/28/2024). Near the Kentucky border, regular unleaded gas is selling for an average price of $2.96 per gallon in Henry County, Tennessee. Henry County is home to Paris, Tennessee. The Chattanooga area also has fuel priced under $3, averaging $2.99 per gallon in Hamilton County. The third area with gas priced less than $3 is Sparta, Tennessee, where you can refuel for $2.97 per gallon, according to AAA.

Meanwhile, in Tennessee, AAA confirmed diesel was averaging $3.60 per gallon on Tuesday morning. The current diesel prices are only 7 cents cheaper than prices reported exactly one year ago and 18 cents cheaper than diesel prices recorded last month in the Volunteer State.
