The National Weather Service out of Nashville has confirmed an EF-0 tornado touched down Wednesday during the severe storms that raked across Middle Tennessee.
Survey teams determined the strength based off of their tour of the damage (some documented in photos above). They believe the tornado touched down shortly after 6:30PM near Threet Road and New Zion Road. It traveled east along New Zion Road, snapping large branches. A tree was uprooted near the intersection of Midland Road and Jones Road. The tornado continued along Jones Road, snapping large limbs and uprooting a few trees before transitioning to straight line winds near the Gray Fox neighborhood. The tornado is throught to have been a maximum of 100-yards wide and traveling 2.95 miles.
While that's the only tornado report so far out of Rutherford County, damaging thunderstorm winds caused structural damage at Lucky Ladd Farms in Eagleville. Numerous trees were also downed there. On social media posts, owners said their whole staff was safe and there were no loss of animals. They're temporarily closed while repairs take place.
There were widespread wind reports of at least 70mph across southern Rutherford County. Flooding rains also dumped anywhere from 2-6" in many of those same locations.
