Murfreesboro, TN - Tennessee's Assistant Commissioner for Fire Prevention, Gary Farley, bids farewell to a distinguished career marked by service and dedication. Having served since 2018, Farley's tenure oversaw the intricate operations of the Fire Prevention Division, including pivotal roles like the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Tennessee Fire Service & Codes Enforcement Academy.

Farley's journey in public service began in 1984 as a firefighter in Murfreesboro, his hometown. Over the years, he climbed the ranks, earning promotions to Assistant Fire Chief and Operations Chief. His commitment to community extended beyond firefighting, as he served as a Rutherford County Commissioner and on the Rutherford County Planning Commission.

Reflecting on his retirement, Farley expressed gratitude for the support received throughout his career. With his wife Deborah also embarking on retirement, Farley looks forward to cherished moments with family, friends, and grandchildren, as well as the freedom to explore new horizons and travel the country.
