Murfreesboro Emergency Communications Center Celebrates Employee Achievements and Lifesaving Efforts

Murfreesboro, TN - Murfreesboro Emergency Communications Center (MECC) Director Seth Russell has proudly announced the promotion of three exceptional employees, recognizing their unwavering dedication and outstanding performance in their roles. Additionally, one dispatcher has been awarded the prestigious Lifesavers Award for her remarkable commitment to duty.

Dispatcher Randi Price, James Smith, and Elizabeth Stubblefield have been promoted in recognition of their exemplary service. Randi Price, who joined MECC in January 2016 as a dispatcher/call taker, has risen through the ranks to become a Communications Supervisor as of December 2023. Price's journey included roles as a Communications Training Officer (CTO) and a Quality Assurance Evaluator.
 
James Smith, who commenced his career with MECC in November 2017, has been promoted to Communications Supervisor in September 2023. Prior to his promotion, Smith served as a CTO, showcasing his dedication and leadership skills.
 
Elizabeth Stubblefield, a valued member of the MECC team since January 2017, has been promoted to Communications Coordinator in October 2023. In this role, Stubblefield oversees the Night Team operations, building on her previous experience as a dispatcher/call taker, CTO, and Communications Supervisor. She was also honored as Murfreesboro’s Public Safety Telecommunicator of the Year in 2021.
 
Director Russell expressed his gratitude for the committed leadership displayed by the MECC team, emphasizing the importance of their adherence to center values such as Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Dedication.
 
In addition to the promotions, Communications Training Officer Celeste Thompson was recognized with a Lifesavers Award for her instrumental role in assisting emergency personnel in saving the life of a one-year-old baby boy. Thompson's quick thinking and effective communication with a frantic father proved invaluable in the critical situation.
 
Director Russell highlighted the significance of ongoing training and professional development in empowering the emergency communications team to effectively respond to any call for help within their jurisdiction.
 
The employees were honored at a promotion/awards ceremony held at the Murfreesboro Police Department headquarters on Friday, March 22, celebrating their achievements and contributions to public safety in the community.
