(MURFREESBORO) On Friday night (3/8/2024), around 7:00 o’clock, there was a two-car crash at the intersection of Thompson Lane and Memorial Boulevard in Murfreesboro.
Murfreesboro Police arrived at the scene promptly, while paramedics from Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue assessed the drivers of both cars. Fortunately, the injuries were not serious enough to require transportation to the ER.
Airbags deployed in both of the mid-size vehicles involved in the crash.
The collision caused gridlock traffic in both directions of the intersection, which occurred near the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center. Traffic was narrowed to the turn lanes in both directions. The situation persisted for approximately one-hour.
It is not known whether the rain, which included light on-and-off sprinkle, was a contributing factor to the accident. Perhaps the answer to that question will be answered in the near future, as authorities are investigating the cause of the collision, which serves as a reminder for all driver's to exercise caution and adhere to traffic rules to prevent accidents. Thankfully, no serious injuries occurred in the Friday night crash.
