Murfreesboro, TN - University of Tennessee student Wes Turner, a 2020 graduate of Siegel High School, recently participated in the annual Big Orange Combine program at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
This program, a collaboration between UT’s Haslam College of Business and Thornton Athletics, provided students with firsthand exposure to media and marketing officials associated with the NFL championship game.
Scheduled to graduate in May with a degree in sports management and a minor in business administration, Wes Turner joined other students in gaining insights into the coordination of America’s largest sporting event, the Super Bowl.
This year, students headed to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 11.
Led by faculty advisor Debbie Mackey and assistant director Josh Liddell, the group engaged with professionals in business, sports, and marketing to understand the collaborative efforts behind this globally-watched event.
