Breakthrough Arrest: Murder Fugitive Caught in Murfreesboro

MORE DETAILS: On January 24th, 2024, the U.S. Marshals successfully apprehended a fugitive wanted for First Degree Murder in West Tennessee, specifically in Murfreesboro. The individual, Rodriquez McNeal, age 35 and hailing from Bolivar, was sought in connection with a tragic homicide case dating back to September 19th, 2021, involving the death of Montreal Harris, aged 33, also from Bolivar, who was discovered shot to death on S. Madison Street in Bolivar.

Authorities from the Bolivar Police Department and the FBI conducted a thorough investigation into the crime, leading to a Hardeman County Grand Jury indictment against Rodriquez McNeal for First Degree Murder in January 2024. The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Jackson was enlisted to aid in locating McNeal. Through diligent efforts, task force investigators gathered intelligence indicating McNeal's presence in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
 
Acting on this information, the U.S. Marshals Middle Tennessee Joint Fugitive Task Force in Nashville successfully arrested McNeal on January 24th at an apartment located on W. Northfield in Murfreesboro. Following his arrest, McNeal was subsequently booked at the Hardeman County Jail to await legal proceedings.
