Rutherford County Gas Prices Averaging $2.61 Per Gallon - 9th Lowest in TN

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - Average gasoline prices in Tennessee have fallen 2.5 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.67/g today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 3,821 stations in Tennessee. Prices in Tennessee are 12.8 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 44.9 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has fallen 2.1 cents in the last week and stands at $3.87 per gallon.

Out of all 95 counties across the state of Tennessee, only 8 counties have gas prices that are lower than Rutherford County's fuel prices. AAA Auto Club reports the average cost of regular unleaded fuel in Rutherford County $2.61 per gallon. Beneath Rutherford County in the Shelbyville area, you can find gas for an average price of $2.62 per gallon. Both Coffee and Cannon County residents are eyeing an average price of $2.69 per gallon, while the average price in Wilson County is $2.68 per gallon.

The national average price of gasoline has fallen 0.8 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.03/g today. The national average is down 7.8 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 36.0 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country.

One year ago, diesel was hovering dangerously close to the $4.50 mark at $4.42 per gallon. The highest priced date for diesel was recorded on June 15, 2022, when diesel was averaging $5.64 per gallon in Tennessee.
