Murfreesboro Police Exhaust All Leads in Murder Case Involving an Innocent Young Man - MPD Asking for Publics Help

Murfreesboro, TN - In a tragic turn of events, the Murfreesboro Police Department (MPD) has announced that all leads in the investigation into the murder of 26-year-old Christopher Jones-McClean have been exhausted... That was Public Information Officer Larry Flowers. McClean was gunned down last year when he and a 25-year-old friend were confronted by two unknown assailants attempting to rob them. The robbery occurred near a residence in the 2000 block of Cason Lane.

On the night of October 12 masked robbers approached McClean and a second victim while demanding money... That was MPD Public Information Officer Larry Flowers. McClean was killed by the armed men and the second victim survived.. It's not yet known if the robbery was a random act of violence or if the two victims were specifically targeted...

Distraught over the loss of her son, McClean's mother Kim Thompson said... His father, Rico McClean, talked about the daily battle he faces... McCleans's parents spoke at a press conference held at the Murfreesboro Police Department on Thursday.

The investigation into the murder of Christopher McClean has hit a standstill, and the family is now urging the public to come forward with any information that may lead to identifying and arresting the perpetrators... That was McClean's grandmother, Pam Martin...

Losing a child, no matter their age, is the hardest thing that McClean's parents have ever experienced...

Rico McClean appealed to anyone who may know details about the murder of his son...

The MPD Public Information Officer emphasized, "Someone knows something, and we are asking the public to come forward with that information." He described McClean as an "innocent, upstanding young man" who had never been in trouble with the law, highlighting the heinous nature of the crime.

Video footage from the neighborhood revealed the two shooters approaching the townhome prior to the incident. Additionally, a maroon or red four-door sedan with tinted windows, believed to be the getaway car, was captured on camera from a nearby business. Investigators hope someone recognizes the vehicle or other characteristics that could aid in identifying the assailants.

Rutherford County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the shooters. Tips can be reported anonymously by calling 615-893-STOP (7867). As the investigation continues, the community is urged to remain vigilant and supportive in the pursuit of justice for Christopher Jones-McClean.
