DEKALB COUNTY, TN - A 70-year-old man has been charged with criminal homicide, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse after admitting to striking his wife in the head with a hammer, burying her body on their property in the Belk Community of DeKalb County, and hiding her vehicle. The Metro Nashville Police Department, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), District Attorney General’s Office (13th District), and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department are jointly leading the investigation.
70-Year-old Joseph Michael Glynn was booked into the Nashville Metro Jail early Saturday morning, January 6, on charges related to the New Year’s Day incident. The charges stem from Glynn allegedly confessing to assaulting his wife, 76-year-old Jackie Glynn, with a hammer and subsequently burying her in DeKalb County. Authorities report that after the attack, Glynn hid and towed the victim’s Toyota Rav 4.

DeKalb County Sheriff Patrick Ray revealed that the Glynn's primary residence is in Nashville, with the alleged murder taking place at 2418 Abbott Martin Road. The couple had purchased 6.99 acres in Jackie's name at 4629 Allen Bend Road in the Belk Community two years ago, where they were believed to stay in a camper trailer.
Sheriff Ray explained that Mr. Glynn had contacted a local realtor on January 4 to list the DeKalb County property for sale, but the realtor was unavailable at that time.
Jackie Glynn, the reported owner or former owner of the popular Nashville wedding venue "Riverwood Mansion," was reported missing by family members earlier this week. A TBI Silver Alert was issued, seeking public assistance in locating her, especially considering her medical condition.
After learning about the DeKalb County property during a police interview with Mr. Glynn, Metro Police requested a welfare check at the Allen Bend Road property. Upon arrival, DeKalb County officers found a freshly dug hole and later discovered Ms. Glynn’s body inside a plastic cargo box.
No local charges have been filed in DeKalb County as of now, but Sheriff Ray emphasizes that the investigation is ongoing. The body has been transported to Nashville for an autopsy.

Joseph Glynn is jailed in lieu of $1,030,000 bond.
