(RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN) The period between Thanksgiving and New Year are the deadliest travel days of the year, and we are now in two consecutive weeks of that period. Rutherford County Sheriffs Office's Sgt. Austin Watson said the deadliest local road has changed. It is now I-840. That has a significant amount of traffic, because it connects I-24, I-40, and I-65.

Since the Christmas and New Year holidays fall on a weekend, Sgt. Watson explained when the roads were the most dangerous . . .

They are dangerous, because DUI by alcohol and drugs are both deadly, especially when you mix them with high-speed interstate traffic.

Sgt. Watson warned that all law enforcement agencies will be looking for offenders, so don't consume alcohol or drugs and then drive. Instead, get a friend to take you home, take advantage of the offer made by The Law Offices of John Day.

New Year Ride Home

Since 2018, The Law Offices of John Day, P.C. has offered safe rides home on #NewYearsEve in Rutherford County, and we will do it again this year.

While visiting WGNS, Day (left photo) said, "We sponsor this Murfreesboro safe ride home campaign because helping victims of DUI accidents receive fair compensation is not enough; we want to help prevent DUI accidents from ever happening in the community in which we work and live."
