MURFREESBORO, TN - At 12:51 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14, the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department swiftly responded to a blazing carport and storage room that caught fire at a home in the 1700 block of Diana Street. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but heavy damage was reported.
The intense flames devoured the detached structure, claiming a car and boat in its destructive path. Additionally, the fire caused damage to the vinyl siding that was on the back of the residence. In the response effort, a section of Diana Street had to be temporarily closed to facilitate the removal of fire hoses.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire, seeking to unravel the circumstances that led to this costly incident.
While the fire wreaked havoc on the property, the coordinated efforts of the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department prevented any casualties, showcasing the effectiveness of their swift response and professional teamwork. The collaborative response involved personnel from Ladder 8, Ladder 6, Ladder 1, Engine 3, Rescue 4, Rescue 1, as well as Battalion Chiefs 1 & 2, Safety 1 & 2.
