NASHVILLE, TN - Two known street racers, Markeeis James of Murfreesboro and Caleb Potter of Mt. Juliet, found themselves in legal trouble earlier this year due to their involvement in dangerous driving activities, according to the Nashville Metro Police Department.

Of the two named suspects, Mr. James recently surrendered to face outstanding aggravated assault and riot warrants at the Downtown Nashville Detention Center. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $11,000.

Police report the charges against Markeeis James stem from an April 22 car meetup, where he was identified as the alleged driver performing high-speed stunts. Those so-called stunts lead to the injury of a juvenile bystander at the meetup, according to police. Despite James turning himself in, he still faces serious consequences for his involvement in the reckless driving incident.

As for the other suspect, 21-year-old Caleb Potter, he remains wanted on an outstanding riot warrant related to a different street meetup on May 28, where an officer's car was obstructed by an individual wearing a clown mask. Police say that Potter's distinctive tattoos aided in his identification as the participant in the illegal street takeover. 

The Metro Nashville Police Department's Traffic Division say they remain committed to investigating street racer groups causing damage and harm through dangerous driving. The department urges anyone with information about Caleb Potter's whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
