SMYRNA, Tennessee—The Smyrna Police Department is searching for suspects involved in stealing police equipment including armor and firearms.

On Sunday, October 29, 2023, Smyrna Police Department had three vehicles targeted and burglarized at officers’ residences. The perpetrators stole police equipment including armor and firearms. Smyrna Police Department is working in tandem with multiple agencies to apprehend the suspects. The Smyrna Police Department policy states that weapons are to be secured or removed from the vehicle. Any breech of the policy will be addressed by police management.

Smyrna Town Manager Brian D. Hercules noted, “We are very concerned about the situation and continue to work with multiple agencies toward a positive resolve for all.”

The investigation remains ongoing.
