MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The operators of the Middle Point Landfill will hold an open house event on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 in the MTSU North Commons, outside the Student Union Building. Officials with the landfill say this event is part of their ongoing open house series that are focused on providing the community with a behind-the-scenes look at Middle Point’s operations.
Some of the subjects of focus at the drop-in open house include the discussion of Middle Point's role in the community’s approach to managing waste and how Rutherford Countians benefit by being Middle Point's host city. Middle Point will also work to answer any questions that area residents may have to better explain some of the long-term visions for the facility.
Attendees can expect an open floor plan with stations set up around the room that will cover various topics of local interest. The life expectancy of Middle Point will also be highlighted on Wednesday. Keep in mind, the projected capacity for the landfill is expected in 5.5 years.
This event is family-friendly and will have food and games onsite for all to enjoy.
Again, the open house is on Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 PM. It will take place in the North Commons, directly outside the MTSU Student Union building at 1768 MTSU Blvd, in Murfreesboro. Parking is allowed onsite without a permit during this time; with the most accessible lot being the Academic Lot next to the Student Union center.
