MURFREESBORO, TN - Murfreesboro Detectives are investigating a stolen wallet case that involved a local shopper visiting a grocery store. The wallet was evidently stolen from the victim's purse as she shopped at the Kroger on Veterans Parkway. The theft happened on July 8, 2023.

Shortly after the wallet was stolen, the victim received notifications from her bank and credit card company. Those notifications alerted her to suspicious activity on her card. She quickly learned one of the fraudulent transactions added up to $500, and another transaction was declined.

Detectives are wanting to speak to the person of interest who was caught on camera. That person of interest was evidently in the store at the time of the theft. If you can help the MPD, call Detective Ray Worden at 629-201-5637.
