Murfreesboro, TN – Supporters of the Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity will take to the streets on September 16th for the 15th Annual Hammer Down for Habitat Poker Run. At least 60 vehicles will participate in the poker run this year.

Funds raised at the Poker Run will go towards the cost of new affordable Habitat homes for local residents, who will help build their future home... That was Melissa Cross with Habitat for Humanity in Rutherford County. She told WGNS that Habitat homeowners have to go through a financial class once they’re approved to receive a loan to buy a Habitat home. By-the-way, Cross said the new homes are meant to be affordable for lower income residents. The monthly payment on a Habitat Home is typically around $800 per month.
