(MURFREESBORO) Shortly after 2:00 o'clock Sunday (7/30/2023) afternoon a silver Ford Focus was traveling toward town on NW Broad Street. The vehicle went into the median in front of the Shell Convenience Store and clipped the tall wooden utility pole almost at ground level. 

The pole fell across both outgoing lanes and totally blocked traffic heading north. 

There was a constant flow of traffic in both directions, and those at the scene say it was amazing that the heavy poll missed hitting any vehicles. 

A Nissan Nuke was in the turn lane goining onto W. Clark Boulevard and missed being hit by only a few feet.
