MURFREESBORO, TN - Detectives have now identified the person of interest in a theft of merchandise case from Lowe's. The incident in question reportedly occurred at the Lowe's store on Old Fort Parkway in Murfreesboro on July 2nd. MPD Public Information Officer Larry Flowers told WGNS, “A warrant has been taken out for theft over $1,000.”
In this theft report, an unknown man reportedly stole two chainsaws. However, a loss prevention worker who was fast on his feet evidently stopped the man in question and quickly recovered the saws. While that sounds good and most would think the thief would have learned his lesson, the same man reportedly returned to Lowe's over the weekend and helped himself to an air conditioner. This time around, the subject made it out of the store with the new AC unit... no one stopped him.
Police now say the reported shoplifter has been identified. MPD also told WGNS that they have taken out a theft warrant on the suspect.
