An East Nashville auto school student who fled home to Louisiana after he came under investigation in a child pornography case has been taken into custody by the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office in Alexandria, Louisiana.
20-Year-old Tavarius Cyriak is named in an arrest warrant sworn out by the Metro Nashville Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit charging him with sexual exploitation of a minor (more than 100 items).
On June 13, the ICAC Unit received a cyber tip alleging that child sexual abuse material had been uploaded to a Snapchat account believed to be controlled by Cyriak. He subsequently admitted to receiving material through his Instagram account, and admitted to downloading and possessing a large number of child sexual abuse images in the photo gallery of his iPhone. An arrest warrant was issued on June 14. When detectives attempted to serve it, they discovered that Cyriak had fled the city. Cyriak has waived extradition and will be returned to Nashville in the coming days.
