RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN – A Murfreesboro man arrested in a drive-by shooting incident that occurred in Nashville this past July (07/25/22), has been indicted in an unrelated murder case.
The Metro Police investigation spanning more than a year in the April 2022 fatal shooting of 62-year-old Nathan Barnett in an apartment complex parking lot on Richards Road has led to the grand jury murder indictment of 25-year-old Jordan Davis of Murfreesboro.
Davis, who has been in local and then federal custody since last July on unrelated gun and drug offenses, was identified as one of two suspects involved in the homicide.
The investigation, led by Homicide Detective Will Mathis, indicates Barnett was meeting with both suspects in an apparent narcotics exchange when he was fatally shot inside a Chrysler 300.
Anyone with information on the second suspect involved is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
