RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - Currently, there 351,437 job openings in Tennessee and 49 new jobs were posted within the past 24-hours, according to the Department of Labor & Workforce Development. For Veterans, re-entering the civilian world of jobs can sometimes be a rollercoaster of interviews, Zoom appointments and more, which is why organizations like the American Job Center have specialist who focus on the Veteran community.
Local Veterans who are looking for a new career are encouraged to visit the American Job Center (1313 Old Fort Parkway) in Murfreesboro on the second Thursday of each month from 12-noon to 1:30pm… That was Thomas E. Stoquert at the American Job Center that hosts the ‘Gear Up Veteran Jobs Club.’
Every Gear Up meeting gives local Veterans a chance to network with area employers and includes a complementary lunch with refreshments. Meeting topics are determined by participating Veterans and touch on a variety of issues related to transitioning while finding work and resources designed to empower all in their journey.
The mission of Gear Up Veteran Jobs Club is to facilitate a cooperative of career-related supports and resources for military Veterans and their families who are seeking connections for job opportunities, career training, peer support, life resources, advocacy and community involvement.
