Murfreesboro, TN - David Herrod just got home from work Wednesday evening when he noticed smoke coming from a home on Double Springs Road in Murfreesboro… It was around 5:30 in the evening and Herrod realized the smoke was coming from the inside of a house… Herrod’s wife called 9-1-1 (Listen to the full news story above this article, below the top picture).
Inside the home was wheelchair bound resident Larry Adams.
Herrod, who was the first person on the scene, jumped out of his truck and headed towards the front door of the house… He then tried to see if anyone was inside… The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Deputy made his way into the home… A neighbor four houses down then showed up to assist…
Lonnie Christian said… Herrod said everything happened so fast… Once out of the burning home, Christian told us that Mr. Adams was worried about his dog…
Herrod said the first Sheriff’s Deputy on the scene set the tone for saving a life… While the exact cause of the fire has not been released, the neighbor four houses down, Lonnie Christian told us… If it were not for that first Rutherford County Sheriff’s Deputy who boldly went inside the burning house, the story could have turned out quite different.
Mr. Adams who lived in the home was transported to a hospital in Nashville where he is being cared for in their burn unit.
As for that deputies name who entered a burning home on Double Springs Road to save a life this past Wednesday... WGNS spoke to the Sheriff’s Office Thursday night and at this point, have not released it. Listen to the full interview / newscast above this article. Scroll down to see a video.
