Murfreesboro, TN - Legacy Pointe, a Habitat for Humanity subdivision in Murfreesboro, continues to grow... That was Melissa Cross, Development Director for the Rutherford County Habitat office. The entrance to the Legacy Pointe neighborhood is at 1248 Twin Oak Drive and once you turn in, the first road you’ll see is… Currently, there are 20-future homeowners in the Rutherford County area Habitat for Humanity program. The future homeowners are going through a series of financial classes at this time and will soon help to build their new home.
Those approved for a Habitat home have to meet a series of requirements before receiving the greenlight to buy a house. Once approved, the future homeowner applies for and receives a mortgage under the Habitat program. Thanks to the communities help and the sweat equity provided by the new homeowner, their new home comes at a much lower cost than a similar home of the same size in the Murfreesboro area.
This Thursday on March 9th, Habitat for Humanity will hold a community fundraiser for the Legacy Point Subdivision. The event will be at Embassy Suites near The Avenue... The fundraiser will be a comedy show called Laugh In and will feature Taylor Mason. For more information or to contact the Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity, visit RCHFH.org.
