MURFREESBORO – “Calling all sponsors!” announced Child Advocacy Center Development Coordinator Katie Enzor. “Help us celebrate National Child Abuse Prevention Month by becoming a Hometown Hero sponsor for the 8th Annual Hometown Heroes Walk for Children.”
For the last 23 years, the Child Advocacy Center has worked as a team with the Department of Children’s Services, law enforcement, and the District Attorney’s Office to investigate and prosecute child abuse cases and help children and families heal from the trauma. Last year, 1,968 children and families were helped. Murfreesboro Police Detective Michael Yates stated… This year marks the 27th year that Yates has been with the police department. For the past 15-years, he has been under the Criminal Investigations Division. Last year, he was the Child Advocacy Center Hometown Hero award winner.
The Hometown Heroes Walk for Children will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at the Murfreesboro Civic Plaza located (111 West Vine Street, Murfreesboro, 37130). When you partner with the Child Advocacy Center, you are supporting crisis intervention and prevention services for children and families.
Registration will start at 10:45 a.m., speakers at 11:30 a.m., and the walk will begin at 12:00 noon. Complimentary shuttles will run from Oaklands Park Pavilion Parking lot to the event kick-off at Civic Plaza from 10:30-11:30 a.m. This FREE event will conclude with a boxed picnic lunch at the Oaklands Park Pavilion. The park is located at 427 Roberts Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37130.

There are five levels of sponsorship – Platinum ($5,000), Gold ($2,500), Silver ($1,000), Bronze ($500), and Friends of the CAC ($250).
