(MURFREESBORO) Civil War historians won't want to miss this month's RUTHERFORD COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY's meeting in Maney Hall at Oaklands Mansion, 900 N. Maney Ave. Retired Judge Ben Hall McFarlin will share his story of Civil War sharpshooter Jack Hinson. It begins at 7:00 o'clock this coming Monday evening (2/20/2023) and is free and open to the public.

Hear the adventure packed story of Jack Hinson from Dover, Tennessee and how he creatively had a victory.

The judge will tell how two of Hinson’s sons were murdered by Federal occupation troops during the Civil War and how Hinson exacted his own form of revenge.

The judge will also share how Mr. Hinson’s one-of-a-kind Civil War rifle made its way to Rutherford County!
