When the men returned to her home… Unfortunately, the two men fled the area before police arrived.
The local electric provider was able to obtain a description of the suspects… Byers reported that Middle Tennessee Electric workers or contractors will not ask to come into your home or demand money.
REPLACING METERS - It’s important to note that Middle Tennessee Electric is in the process of replacing electric meters with new ones in some areas. Byers said that prior to an MTE contractor showing up at your house, you will receive a yellow postcard in the mail that states, “MTE Will Be Upgrading Your Meter Soon.” Within the following weeks of receiving the postcard, a contractor will knock on your door before changing-out your meter. Byers explained… MTE contractors will be wearing a safety vest and driving a vehicle that has Middle Tennessee Electric or Middle Tennessee Contractor on the side.
