(MURFREESBORO) All over American the groundhog is being watched closely. If he sees his shadow, the rodent is frightened and scurries back into his hole. That means six-more weeks of winter. However, if it's cloudy and Sciuridae does not see his shadow--then he stays "out" and spring will arrive soon!
Well, that's the Friday happening (Feb. 3, 2023). Tune to WGNS and learn how the morning went for Rutherford Ralph.
Usually, MTSU's Groundhog Luncheon is on the same day, but a booking problem forced the Blue Raider's 50th celebration to be on Friday this year.
It will be in the ballroom of the Student Union Building (1768 MTSU Blvd.) this Friday (2/4/2023). Doors open 11AM for this popular annual look at Blue Raider baseball.
The meal includes ham hocks, white beans, tomato salad, green onions, cornbread, chocolate cake and ice cream.
First-year Head Coach Jerry Meyers will introduce members of the 2023 Blue Raider roster and will give out the traditional Railbirds jacket.
All proceeds will go to the Blue Raider baseball program. TICKETS: in advance $25, day of event $30, baseball alumni $20, table of 10 $250. To purchase tickets, phone 615-898-5261.
