MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The Middle Tennessee State University Student Union Ballroom buzzed with activity. There was loud music and conversations filled the room.

For three hours, more than 200 MTSU students met with nearly 100 campus organizations during the recent Spring Student Organization Fair.

The students were there to discover the opportunities available now and in the future. The event was presented by the Office of Student Organizations and Service, which is part of the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership.

The attending student organizations were only about a third of the total number (more than 300) on campus. The entire list includes campus ministries, fraternities and sororities, national organizations, student-led department organizations and more.

Among the student organizations attending Wednesday, Jan. 25, included the MTSU E-Sports Club, Collegiate 100, Reformed University Fellowship, Tabletop Club and NAACP at MTSU.

Elijah Dodson, a freshman biology major from Memphis, Tennessee, said he believed “there are a whole lot more organizations here than in the fall.

“There are more church ministries, fraternities, sororities and a whole lot of organizations to see. There’s a good vibe going on — and a whole lot more socializing.”

Jackie Victory, director of Student Organizations and Service, called the event “a huge success” with the number of attending students “and 94 organizations showcasing themselves to new and current students.”
