Area golfers can drive and putt their way to help send children to The Salvation Army summer camp. They also can "chip in" with funds for back-to-school supplies. A fundraising Salvation Army golf tournament will be held Sunday, July 17, beginning with a 2 p.m. shotgun start at Champions Run Golf Course in Rockvale.
This will be a two-person scramble format. Entry fee is $50 per person, plus tourney organizers request a minimum of $10 in school supplies for a drive that will end in early August. Also available are $50 hole sponsorships and a $125 hole sponsor and team.
The Salvation Army tournament will be held rain or shine, and entry fees are due Thursday, July 14. Lunch will be provided starting at 1 p.m. Champions Run Golf Course is located at 14262 Mt. Pleasant Road in Rockvale. Through player entries and other charitable contributions, organizers hope to raise $6,000 to meet their goal.
