Sizeable Fentanyl Drug Bust Takes Place in Rutherford County, North Carolina – Not in Rutherford County, Tennessee

(Rutherford County, North Carolina) An alleged drug bust that took place in North Carolina has received a lot of attention in Tennessee because the county where the arrest took place may sound familiar to local residents.

Evidently, approximately 1,100 Fentanyl pills, 26.4 grams of marijuana, a 9mm handgun and over $2,500 in cash were seized in Rutherford County… but, not in Rutherford County, Tennessee. The arrest took place during a traffic stop in Rutherford County, North Carolina in a town called Forest City, thanks to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office of North Carolina and the Forest City Police Department.

During the traffic stop that occurred about 2-hours past Gatlinburg and into North Carolina, police pulled over a vehicle that was reportedly driven by Andrea Marie Boyce. During a search of the vehicle, authorities found around 110 grams of Yellow Fentanyl Pills, marijuana, a handgun and cash. Boyce and passenger Donte Marquise Forney, were both arrested.

Boyce and Forney were each charged with trafficking opium or heroin. In addition to that charge, Boyce, who was beleived to be the driver of the vehicle, was also charged with maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, possession with the intent to sell or deliver marijuana and carrying a concealed gun.

Again, the arrests took place in Rutherford County, North Carolina and not Rutherford County, Tennessee.
