Oakland routed Beech Saturday 42-6 to claim the Blue Cross Bowl Class 6A football state championship. It's the Patriots' seventh championship and third in row.

Running back Eric Taylor, the game's MVP, scored four touchdowns and ran for 175-yards on 18-carries.

Oakland led 14-6 at the half but three touchdowns in under five minutes in the third quarter broke the game wide open.

The Patriots finish the season 14-1.
