(Rutherford County, TN) Food is in short supply right now throughout Rutherford County, according to LaDawna Parham with the Nourish Food Bank in Smyrna… Problems are compounded for area foodbanks because of supply chain issues that are backlogged from as far back as 2020.
The number of people served monthly has increased significantly since 2019… To highlight the struggle, one of the Nourish Food Banks went from serving 750-clients monthly in 2019 to 1,500 clients per month this year (November of 2022).
One of the easiest ways to donate to the Nourish Food Bank is by giving on Venmo “@NourishFoodBanks.” Local neighborhoods can also hold food drives or drop-off non-perishable food items at their offices in Murfreesboro and Smyrna.
VOLUNTEER – If you would like to serve the community by lending a helping hand to the Nourish Food Bank in Rutherford County, your help would be greatly appreciated…Learn more by visiting their website at NourishFoodBanks.org.
