(MURFREESBORO, TENN.) The Tennessee Department of Safety & Homeland Security confirmed 7,535 motor-vehicle crashes in Tennessee that involved a DUI driver between October 1, 2021 and September 30, 2022. Their data also shows that 1 in 2 crashes resulted in injury or death.
In an effort to curb the number of DUI related crashes throughout the week of Thanksgiving, the Tennessee Highway Patrol will work with law enforcement agencies in Rutherford County to increase patrol and stop intoxicated drivers. The THP will also conduct a sobriety checkpoint on South Rutherford Boulevard between South Church Street and Highway 41 in Murfreesboro... According to statistics from the state, 74 out of 100 DUI drivers involved in a motor vehicle crash were men, according to the TN Department of Safety & Homeland Security.
