(MURFREESBORO) UPDATE: The New Lascassas Highway reopened around 7:00, Monday evening following a head-on collision. The highway had to be shut down for about 4-hours because of the accident that left one person dead.

Murfreesboro Police Public Information Officer Larry Flowers told WGNS NEWS, “One person is confirmed deceased, five others were injured.” The MPD Fatal Accident Crash Team continues to investigate the head-on collision that occurred on the New Lascassas Highway, east of Dejarnette Lane. Names of those involved have not been released at this point. WGNS will continue to follow this story.
