(Middle Tenn.) The subject of a sexual exploitation of a minor investigation who has reportedly been on the run has been captured. Nashville Metro Police detectives, with the assistance of a Metro helicopter, arrested 37-year-old Ashley Shannon Wright who has been on the run since last month regarding two felony warrants for sexual exploitation of a minor.
In response to a Crime Stoppers tip, detectives spotted Wright leaving an Antioch Pike storage unit. He was followed by air and drove to a nearby Sam’s Club. An undercover team moved in and tackled Wright in the parking lot as he left his vehicle. Police report that he was carrying a gun.
Wright came under investigation after the MNPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit received information that sexual images depicting children were on an Internet account linked to Wright. Hundreds of additional images were later found on his home computer pursuant to a search warrant.
Earlier this month East Precinct officers spotted Wright May 5 in a Honda Odyssey van and tried to stop it. Wright allegedly fled and evaded apprehension.
Wright has been booked on the sexual exploitation of a minor counts, as well as charges of felony evading arrest, reckless driving, and misdemeanor possession of meth.
