There is more news on the I-24 SMART Corridor Project in Rutherford County.
The Smart Corridor is a project that got underway in 2018, with the overall goal of making the flow of traffic between Murfreesboro and Nashville run smoother in a timelier manner.
Currently, phase 3 is the next chapter in the project and the design of phase 3 is starting this year with construction set to end by the middle of 2024.

An informative presentation from Michelle Nickerson, Civil Engineering Manager with the Tennessee Department of Transportation, will update residents on the current status of the Interstate 24 SMART Corridor Project at a meeting to be hosted by the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. The meeting will be on Thursday morning, March 17th from 8:30 to 9:30 AM.

The I-24 SMART Corridor project will integrate freeway and arterial roadway elements, along with physical, technological, and operational improvements, to provide drivers accurate, real-time information and to actively manage traffic.
This upcoming 45-minute session will give an overview of the project and the implementation plans. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions following the presentation. This event is free, but registration is required.
