MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Police in Murfreesboro say they have had a break in a murder case that took place in September of 2019 on Halls Hill Pike. Killed was Marquis Turner, who had just left a party shortly after attending an MTSU football game.

Detectives say he was a complete stranger to the shooter.
Marquis Turner was only 21-years-old when fatally shot in the 2400 block of Halls Hill Pike near the Elks Lodge in Murfreesboro.
Again, arrested was Khalil Smith.
