The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs vaccinated its one millionth Veteran with their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine Wednesday.
The Tennessee Valley Healthcare System has administered more than 9,300 first doses and 2,000 second doses of the Moderna vaccine to local Veterans.
VA began COVID-19 immunizations in December 2020. As of February 17, VA has vaccinated 329,685 Veterans with a second dose. VA’s COVID-19 National Summary publishes daily vaccination data on Veterans, including information on employee and federal partner vaccinations.
TVHS is offering the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to enrolled Veterans who are aged 55 and above. Enrolled Veterans who are interested in vaccine are encouraged to use VA’s “Keep Me Informed” tool or contact their health care team.
