Expect long lines if you are renewing your automobile tags...

The drive-thru line at the Rutherford County Clerk office located in Murfreesboro is longer than usual. The reason is because the clerk is continuing to renew tags and issue new license plates by way of their drive-thru window, due to COVID Protocol in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

On December 23, 2020, Rutherford County Clerk Lisa Duke Crowell announced that all Rutherford County Clerk offices would close to the public for INSIDE office Motor Vehicle services until further notice. That change remains in effect. The Drive Through only rule will not affect other Clerk services.
